What is the Hyper Interdisciplinary Conference?

It is a place where researchers, large corporations, small factories, and venture companies, regardless of their field or industry, can fuse their knowledge and technology, identify new research themes and issues that humanity needs to face, and promote research together, through discussion. Participants from different fields and industries constructively discuss the creation of unprecedented research themes and approaches to problem solving, and continue to work together to set up cutting-edge R&D projects that transcend barriers.

About the Kagawa Forum 2022 of the Association of Hyperdifferent Fields

The Kagawa Forum is an attempt to create a new ecosystem that attracts a variety of knowledge to this region, the nexus of Shikoku and Honshu, and fuses it with the knowledge fostered in the region. The first forum in 2021 was attended by 161 participants, who engaged in discussions that transcended the boundaries of different fields and industries through sessions by seven partner companies and organizations, as well as 51 presentations composed of posters and booths.

In the Seto Inland Sea, the largest closed sea area in Japan, we will build a splendid knowledge exchange bridge like the Seto Ohashi Bridge, from Kagawa to the world, and create a knowledge manufacturing ecosystem.

Technology Splash."
Technology Splash, named after the word "splash," which means "to splash or splash (water, etc.)," is an opportunity for researchers and venture companies to pitch what they want to do and what they are looking for from the participants in a two-minute pitch. The goal is to find passionate researchers and to use their pitches as inspiration to come up with new ideas, while being exposed to the knowledge and enthusiasm of researchers who appear one after another. "Bridging Japan and the Philippines to Create Solutions for Forestry Issues via Drone Technology."
Plantation Drones Build Bridges Between the Philippines and Japan to Solve Forest Problems
<Summary of Lecture
Japan has been dependent on overseas imports for timber since its high economic growth period, and Japan is now the world's fourth largest importer of timber. On the other hand, in the Philippines, a former lumber supplier, forests that covered about 50% of the country around 1900 were reduced to only 181 TP3T in 1999, and the question now is how to regenerate the lost forests.
In this lecture, we would like to invite Mr. Jay of Galansiyang, a drone afforestation startup that was established to solve forest issues in the Philippines, to discuss what kind of technology we can stand on and how we can collaborate in reforestation to realize a sustainable world. We would like to think about this here in Kagawa, where rainfall is low and we know more about the importance of forests as a source of water than anywhere else.

<Abstract>
Japan has relied on imports of timber from overseas since its high economic growth period, and Japan is now the world's fourth largest importer of timber. Jay Arniel Gajudo

Jay has dreamed of creating a technology company since he was 12 years old. In high school, he became passionate about selling food and drinks in the classroom to raise money for his first drone project and dropped out of school for not attending his subjects. Transferring from another high school, he then convinced his parents to support his hobby in exchange for more focus on school. He then built and flew his first DIY drone at age 16, and upon entering college at MSU-IIT, he founded a startup with a fellow thesis student. He was also hired by their dean as a research assistant before graduation to help them with their research process. After graduation, he was rehired by another department, but then ended his career as a university researcher to work full time at Galansiyang Inc.

A Stone in the Way of Deforestation - When Accumulated Knowledge Blossoms

Since two-thirds of Japan's land area is covered by forests, the country was originally blessed with abundant forest resources. However, the maintenance and effective utilization of these resources have not progressed sufficiently. According to a survey conducted by the Forestry Agency, due to the aging of forestry workers and other factors, the number of forests that can be effectively used as forest resources is decreasing because the main cutting of trees over 10 years old, which is necessary for forest renewal, is not being done sufficiently. On the other hand, looking at the rest of the world, there are many areas where the recovery of ecosystems after resource extraction has not progressed, and land lacking forests, which are essential for material cycles, is spreading. In this session, we will share the issues related to forest resource management in Japan and around the world, and discuss how these issues can be resolved, together with researchers who are working on the management and maintenance of underutilized land use and forest operations, and researchers who are studying microorganisms and plant species that are necessary for the regeneration of such land. We will share our experiences and ideas on how to solve these issues.

Ms. Keiko Yamaji
Professor, Department of Biosphere Resource Sciences, Graduate School of Life and Environmental Sciences, University of Tsukuba

Born in Mito City, Ibaraki Prefecture, Japan. He received his Ph.D. in Agricultural Chemistry from Hokkaido University in 2000, and his postdoctoral fellowship at the Finnish Forest Research Institute (2001-2003). In 2005, he started research on plants and functional microorganisms native to former mine sites at Tsukuba University, where he discovered that functional microorganisms are involved in the heavy metal tolerance mechanism of native plants. Award, KOBASHI Award, and Focus Systems Award for Imagine the Microbial-Capsule.

Yevgeny Aster Dulla

Born in Iloilo, Philippines, he graduated from the University of the Philippines - Visayas Campus in 2010 (B.S. Chemistry) and worked as a chemistry lecturer at the University of the Philippines - Manila Campus; came to Japan in 2013 and entered the Kumamoto University - MEXT HIGO Program; M.S. (Health and Life Sciences) in 2015, D. in 2018 (Health Life Science and Pharmaceutical Sciences). After graduation, he worked for IntraLink, a business consulting firm responsible for supporting Japanese expansion through sales representatives, etc. He supported Western biotech and medical device companies in their expansion into Japan, and has been in his current position since May 2020. After serving in the Education Development Division and the Founding Development Division, he established a Philippine subsidiary in 2021 and became its representative director.

While utilizing his own research experience, he discovers and nurtures deep tech startups in the US, UK, Singapore, Malaysia, and the Philippines, where the Rivanes Group has offices, and at the same time designs new businesses for Japanese companies in collaboration with the startups. He also has experience in assisting Japanese deep-tech startups to enter Southeast Asia and Southeast Asian startups to enter the Japanese market, and has been in his current position since October 2021. In order to build and maintain mankind's access to safe and affordable water, there is a need for a sufficient number of engineers to support the water supply infrastructure. In 2002, he joined Fuso Corporation. In 2020, he joined the Digital Promotion Department of the Solution Design Division, where he has been working on the creation of a solution that enables users of water infrastructure to "connect" beyond time, place, and field by linking BIM/CIM* related technologies, thereby accumulating knowledge and know-how and making their work both more advanced and easier. Mr. Ryuichi Kato
Engineer, Humanome Research Institute, Inc.

Engineer After graduating from Tokyo City University's Robotic Life Support Laboratory with a master's degree in 2013, he started working for an electronics company, where he was in charge of designing and controlling the mechanism that supplies ink from the ink tank of a large inkjet printer. He then became interested in Deep Learning and moved to an IT company in 2018, where he is in charge of anomaly detection projects in agriculture and medicine, as well as a technical blog. He is currently working on a project to automate structural calculations for buildings. His first daughter was born on July 31 this year.

Majored in Applied Mathematics at UC Berkeley (University of California, Berkeley). While in college, worked as a software engineer, data engineer, and business development for domestic startups from early to rater stage.In 2019, worked as an associate at ABBALab, a seed VC that invests mainly in the IoT space. Founded Solafune Inc. in 2020 with a focus on satellite data utilization and competition-style technology development methods. Winner of the NTT West Award and the BIPROGY Award at the Deep Tech Grand Prix 2022. Born in Okinawa, Japan.

Kazuhiro Hasegawa
Executive Officer and CMO, Liverness, Inc.

He holds a master's degree in engineering from Tokyo Metropolitan University. He joined RIVERNESS in his first year of master's degree and later became the first new employee of RIVERNESS. He launched the Human Resource Development Division and became an executive officer in 2012, leading the launch of the TECHPLANTER business and Real Tech Fund, building case studies of collaboration between startups and local factories, opening the "Center of Garage" incubation facility, and supporting new business creation for small and medium-sized enterprises. Construction sites are currently undergoing major changes, such as a shortage of workers due to the declining birthrate and other factors, and the need for DX through the use of digital technology. On the other hand, due to the structure of the industry, there are many challenges in implementation, such as the inability to spend a large amount of money on the technology to be introduced in the field, and whether it can be made usable by workers on the site. In this session, we will discuss the theme of "How can we realize Construction DX?" will be discussed by Mr. Mabe of Kenrobotech, Mr. Yasuya of Adawarp Japan K.K., which provides remote control technology in the IoT field, and Mr. Nojo of MizLinx Corporation, which develops robots for the fisheries field, which faces similar challenges.

Completed graduate studies at the Graduate School of Science and Technology, Keio University. During graduate school, he was engaged in research on motion analysis of a lunar rover using simulation. He was a long-term intern at Keio University, where he developed prototypes of IoT products. (In August 2021, while still in graduate school, he founded MizLinx, Inc. and became its representative director.

Mr. Tatsuki Anyaya

Graduated from the Department of Information Imaging, Faculty of Engineering, Chiba University.
Inspired by a lecture titled "Introduction to Entrepreneurship," he started a student business in his second year of college and closed it six months later.
Moved to the U.S. to Silicon Valley to study abroad in 2014, went through the VR Acceleration Program, raised $100,000 in funding, closed down in 2016.
In 2017, he launched Adawarp Japan K.K. and started developing software for tele-operation. As of 2022, he focuses on developing low-cost tele-operation applications. 2022 Oct. Born in 1976. Born in Kagawa Prefecture, he is a genuine Sanuki native who grew up eating udon as baby food. After graduating from high school, he entered a culinary school thinking it was a job where he could express himself. The bank imposed a change of management on the company in the crisis of bankruptcy. Graduated from the Department of Economics, Faculty of Political Science and Economics, Waseda University, and joined the Kagawa prefectural government in 1984. Since then, he has long been involved in work related to the revitalization of the local economy, including attracting companies, commercializing rare sugar, the Shikoku Tourism Promotion Project, and launching the Information and Communication Exchange Center. On the other hand, the oceans, which are the source of this absorption, are now facing the problems of rocky shore scorch, oligotrophication, and the influx of garbage from the land, and measures to maintain their abundance are required.
