The Global Algae Summit (GAS) 2026 invites researchers, industry leaders, innovators, and changemakers to submit abstracts under this year’s theme, The Algae Frontier: Catalysing Value and Impact. As algae continues to gain global momentum, this is your opportunity to showcase ideas and solutions that move beyond potential into real-world application.
We are looking for bold insights, breakthrough research, and practical case studies that demonstrate how algae can create value, drive innovation, and deliver meaningful impact across industries.
Objective
Showcase solutions that bridge the gap between innovation and real-world application, while fostering knowledge exchange, collaboration, and partnerships among global stakeholders. Ultimately, to highlight pathways that drive value creation and accelerate impact across the algae ecosystem.
Eligibility for presentation
We invite participants to share their work through poster presentations at the Global Algae Summit (GAS) 2026. Poster registration is free (academics, students, researchers) and open to researchers, students, startups, and industry professionals.

His research has contributed significantly to the development of algae-based solutions in food, health, renewable resources, and environmental sustainability. As both an accomplished academic and the CEO of Phytolipid Technologies Co., Ltd., Professor Ohta bridges fundamental research with industrial innovation, transforming cutting-edge discoveries into real-world applications.

Representing one of the world's leading pioneers in algae biotechnology, Mr. Kim Seong Hwan brings extensive experience in translating scientific innovation into commercially successful businesses. As a senior executive of Euglena Co., Ltd. and Managing Director of Euglena Malaysia, he has played an instrumental role in expanding algae-based solutions across healthcare, nutrition, sustainability and the bioeconomy. Turning Waste into Value with Algae
This session explores emerging technologies and collaborative innovations in utilizing palm oil biomass waste as a sustainable resource for microalgae cultivation. By converting agricultural by-products and sugar-rich waste streams into nutrient feed sources for algae growth, the session highlights new opportunities in circular bioeconomy development, carbon reduction, and sustainable bioresource management.
The discussion will examine the integration of algae biotechnology with the palm oil sector to develop value-added applications in biofuels, bioproducts, and green industrial solutions. The session aims to showcase how cross-sector collaboration and scientific advancement can transform waste into sustainable economic and environmental opportunities.
