Hokkaido Forum 2021 will be held for the first time on Dec. 4 (Sat.)

Liberace,Challenge Field Hokkaidoto create an ecosystem that generates open innovation starting from the knowledge gathered at universities and research institutions in Hokkaido.

Hokkaido, with its abundant natural and tourism resources, is also one of Japan's leading "knowledge clusters", as evidenced by the presence of eight universities and national research institutes. Challenge Field Hokkaido," launched in 2020 as the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry's "Project to Create a Center of Excellence for Industry-Academia Fusion," brings together the knowledge of eight universities and national institutes in Hokkaido to realize "the deepening and expansion of university-based open innovation" and "the creation of shared value that will lead to a future society. The organization is structured with the participation of 25 organizations from industry, academia, government, and academia.

In this first year of collaboration, we will conduct a survey to visualize unutilized research seeds in Hokkaido, etc., and hold the first ever Hokkaido Forum 2021 on Saturday, December 4, as a forum for identifying issues in Hokkaido and building bridges among universities, industry, local governments, and generations.
The forum will be a place where professionals from various fields, including researchers from academia, engineers from companies and factories, producers, entrepreneurs, managers of large companies and those involved in new business creation, and junior high and high school students, will come together to promote team building and other activities to launch cross-disciplinary research projects and solve problems. We welcome participation from researchers in academia who wish to promote joint projects in collaboration with industry, not only in Hokkaido, but also from venture companies and business companies who wish to collaborate with research institutions in Hokkaido. In 2020, Challenge Field Hokkaido was launched with the aim of creating new industries and building a prosperous society by deepening cooperation between industry and academia in Hokkaido. The Hokkaido Forum 2021 aims to create research, development, and business that will address not only local issues, but also global issues, by gathering knowledge that transcends regions, fields, and generations in Hokkaido.
