Dr. Chi-Te Liu, Professor and Director, Institute of Biotechnology, National Taiwan University

Dr. Chi-Te Liu is Professor and Director of the Institute of Biotechnology at National Taiwan University. He received his Ph.D. from The University of Tokyo.  His research focuses on microbial ecology, plant–microbe interactions, and environmental biotechnology, with particular emphasis on symbiosis, sustainable agriculture, bioenergy, and plastic biodegradation. He has contributed to advancing knowledge in microbial functions and their applications in environmental sustainability and agricultural systems. Dr. Liu has extensive international research experience and is actively engaged in interdisciplinary and international collaborations, particularly between Taiwan and Japan, contributing to advancing sustainable science and technology.
