He is a graduate of Keio University's Graduate School of Business Administration (MBA) and the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School Exchange Program, and is a member of JAPAN MENSA. After working for a U.S. consulting firm in Japan, he moved to Silicon Valley to support business and capital alliances between U.S. venture companies and Japanese companies.
