The Masuda Forum 2022 will be held on September 3, 2022.

LIVERNESS Corporation, in cooperation with the Mashida City Chamber of Commerce and Industry, will hold the Mashida Forum 2022, a super interdisciplinary conference, on Saturday, September 3, 2022. The theme of the conference is "Rebuilding Regional Value through Local Industry x Science and Technology: Toward the Establishment of the Masuda Model," and a wide range of passionate people will gather, including junior high and high school students, students, researchers, venture companies, large corporations, and local government officials. <Creating a model for solving regional issues from Masuda

Although Masuda City in Shimane Prefecture is located a 10-minute drive from Hagi/Ishimi Airport, the city has been listed by the Council for the Creation of Japan as one of the cities with the potential to disappear due to its declining population, aging population with low birthrate, lack of agricultural bearers, and devastated mountain forests. In 2018, RIVANES has been working with the people of Masuda City to create highly unique projects that combine the knowledge and technology of researchers from inside and outside the prefecture with local resources in order to solve these local issues. The 2022 Forum will present the results of four projects that have been conducted thus far: "Health Tech Mall Demonstration Research," "Grazing Livestock Production in Abandoned Forest Land," "Agribusiness Utilizing Unused Resources," and "Marine Debris Drift Diagnosis Using Drones. Through this forum, we aim to accelerate research and development and build a sustainable regional decentralized city.
