The disruptive power of advanced measurement in industry! Venture Technology to Create Innovations!

Within the 10th Annual Conference of the Association of Hyperdifferent Fields, March 5-6, 2021 (Friday and Saturday), hosted by RIVERNESS, a panel discussion entitled "The Disruptive Power of Advanced Measurement in Industry! Leveraging Venture Technology to Create Innovation" (presented by Monozukuri Research Center) will be held.

There are many elemental technologies involved in creating and delivering something new to the world. One of the most typical examples is measurement. Measurement is not only required in many situations such as "manufacturing process control" and "quality control," but it is also an essential technology for computer-controlled manufacturing equipment. In this session, we will introduce cutting-edge technologies from venture companies that excel in measurement and analysis. The session will also touch on the possibilities for innovation opened up by the use of these measurement technologies, and discuss the hurdles to social implementation from the perspective of the companies and ventures that are introducing these technologies.

We will have a program of discussions among researchers, start-ups, and large companies from a variety of perspectives, not limited to the themes of this session.
We are now accepting applications for audience participation. Please visit the conference website (see below).

*The event will be held after taking measures against new coronavirus infection on the day of the event. For more information

speaker

Kawano Labs Co.
Representative Director
Makoto Kawano

D. in Analytical Chemistry at Osaka University, he was selected for JST's A-STEP Young Entrepreneur Type program based on his research results, and after 3 years of research and development, he established Kawano Lab Inc. in 2015. He has developed a method for analyzing microparticles and cells based on the phenomenon of swimming by magnetic fields, and is concerned with single-particle analysis of wettability, dispersibility, crystallinity, surface coverage, cell viability and activity, and so on. Through joint research with universities and companies, we are also developing image analysis using deep-learning and various microspectroscopy methods.

BallWave Corporation
President and Representative Director
Shingo Akao

D. in Materials and Systems Engineering, Graduate School of Engineering, Tohoku University, while engaged in research related to ball SAW at Toppan Printing Co. After working as a visiting associate professor at Tohoku University's Joint Research Center for Advanced Science and Technology, he established Ball Wave Corporation in 2003 and became its representative director.
Despite the great demand from industry, there are no versatile high-speed, high-sensitivity gas sensors. The company is aiming for social implementation of ball SAW sensor technology, which enables ultra high-speed and high-sensitivity sensing of any gas (molecule) simply by changing the sensing film.
