~Hacking the Orchard with IT x Real Tech~.

 

A panel discussion titled "Creating an Agri-Tech Demonstration Field with a Super-Different Field Team - Hacking an Orchard with IT x Real Tech" will be held within the Kansai Forum 2020 (Sunday, June 21, 2020), a super-different field conference hosted by LIVERNESS.

In recent years, research and development has been aggressively pursued by large corporations, venture companies, and researchers to realize agriculture using robots, IoT, and data. There have been an increasing number of efforts to develop demonstrations in actual agricultural fields in a wide range of fields, including paddy rice, open field vegetables, and facility cultivation. In this session, we will focus on fruit trees in particular, and discuss the next step forward with three researchers who have demonstrated sensing technologies essential for data utilization. Together, we will recruit colleagues who will work together to create the agriculture of the future. 

We have prepared a program of discussions among researchers, venture companies, and large corporations from various perspectives, not limited to the themes of this session. We are looking for audience members, so please join us. Please visit the conference website (see below).

After graduating from the Faculty of Commerce at Keio University in 1989, he joined Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu Co. After working at a tax accounting firm, he joined Focus Systems Inc. in 1998. He was appointed as Director in 2006 and Managing Director in 2009. In April 2011, he was appointed President and Representative Director.

Takayuki Sakota
After graduating from Kwansei Gakuin University, he took over his family's agrochemical dealership; in 2014, he established e-commerce business ePlus Inc. in 2014; in 2015, he established agricultural business Santo Noen Inc. and in 2018 released "AgriShot," a citrus pest diagnosis app using artificial intelligence.

Kazuhiro Nishioka
He developed a low-cost sap flow sensor that measures the flow rate of sap sucked up by plants from their roots, and founded a venture company at the University of Tokyo to promote its use in the agricultural scene. At the same time, he has served as an advisor to several agri-tech ventures. His love of wine led him to organize Team Kisvin, a viticulture research group, 14 years ago, while he was involved in winemaking in Yamanashi, Japan. This year, he will start winemaking in California, USA.

Representative Director, President and COO, Liverness, Inc.
Shuichiro Takahashi
D. (Life Sciences), Graduate School of Frontier Sciences, The University of Tokyo. He has been involved in RIVANESS since its establishment. After completing his graduate studies, he continued his research activities as a faculty member at the University of Tokyo, while at the same time he established a research institute at RIVANESS and built the foundation of its research and development business. He devised the business model of "Liberness Research Grant," a unique research grant, and "L-RAD," a database of unutilized research ideas, and has initiated many open innovation projects involving industry, academia, and education.
