Mr. Koichi Fujiwara

After working at NTT Communication Science Laboratories, he has been an Assistant Professor at the Graduate School of Informatics, Kyoto University since 2012. Using data science, he is mainly promoting research on biological signal processing and medical data analysis, as well as developing medical devices based on machine learning; founded Quadrityx, Inc. in 2018; concurrently a JST PRESTO researcher since October 2018; Associate, Graduate School of Engineering, Nagoya University since November 2018. He will assume the position of Professor at Nagoya University's Graduate School of Engineering in November 2018.

Mr. Shinnosuke Murakami

He joined Metagen, Inc. in 2016 and has been Executive Officer and COO since 2018. he has been engaged in research on intestinal bacteria for more than 9 years, developing stool preservation technology, building a Japanese intestinal environment database, and conducting R&D for practical application of intestinal environment control technology. He also specializes in hot spring therapy studies and in 2015 conducted a study on drinking Nagayu hot spring water (Taketa, Oita Prefecture) and showed that it increases intestinal bacteria that may contribute to anti-obesity and may prevent or improve diabetes.

At Marine Farm (Kunitachi City, Oita Prefecture), a research institute for aquaculture enhancement, he conducted research and development on bivalve shellfish aquaculture and phytoplankton production. Later, he was involved in the planning and development of facility horticulture and soil preparation solutions, launched the Bio Innovation Center, and constructed its Kurashiki Laboratory (completed on August 26, 2016) He has been in his current position since April 2017.

After completing his graduate studies, he continued his research activities as a faculty member at the University of Tokyo, while at the same time he established a research institute at RIVANESS and built the foundation of its research and development business. He devised the business model of "Liberness Research Grant," a unique research grant, and "L-RAD," a database of unutilized research ideas, and has initiated many open innovation projects involving industry, academia, and education.

He started his career in the Research and Development Division, and after working in the Media Development Division, Regional Development Division, and Human Resources Development Division, he was appointed as Executive Officer in 2012. He contributes to the establishment of commercialization strategies for seeds, including intellectual property strategies for various companies and research institutions.

Cohort studies of several thousand elderly people in local communities have already shown that medical and nursing care costs can be reduced through the accumulation of health data and appropriate diet and exercise interventions. On the other hand, in order to realize health promotion on a scale of tens of thousands to 10 million people, including the younger generation, it will be necessary to design and deploy a mechanism that is different from research, such as awareness building and dietary intervention within organizational activities such as companies, and individual motivational mechanisms using smartphones as hooks. The session will focus on the following topics. In this session, based on proven intervention methods, technologies for behavior change, and the use of health checkup data, we will discuss ways to develop health behavior creation into organizational activities, with the aim of forming joint research projects.

Since 2012, he has participated in the Kameoka Study, a cohort study in the field of Kameoka City, Kyoto Prefecture. He acts as a bridge between the local government and a group of researchers.Since 2017, he has been working at the National Institute of Health and Nutrition (NIHN). She has been involved in the tripartite agreement between Kameoka City, Kyoto Gakuen University, and the National Institute of Biomedical Innovation, Health and Nutrition, and signed a comprehensive agreement in June this year, drawing on her past experience. He specializes in research on physical fitness of the elderly. He is a recipient of the Young Investigator Excellence Award from the Japan Society of Physical Education. He is a certified health and exercise instructor.

He was certified as a super creator in the Exploratory IT Human Resources Discovery and Development Project in the second half of 2009. 2015, he started participating in the Nagahama Health Walk, a health promotion event of Nagahama City, where he is mainly involved in the development of a support system for participants. Since 2016, he has been working at Kyoto University Hospital. His specialty is research on medical informatics. His research theme is human behavior change with the assistance of artificial intelligence.

After working for Nippon Life Insurance Company, joined Rohto Pharmaceutical in 1986. Served as General Manager of Product Planning Department, General Manager of Sales Department, and General Manager of Sales Planning Department.
After the Great East Japan Earthquake of March 11, 2011, he spent three years in the disaster area as the head of the Reconstruction Assistance Office, where he devoted himself to disaster recovery efforts and established the Michinoku Future Fund, a scholarship program for children orphaned by the disaster.
Since April 2018, he has been a part-time lecturer at Kobe University Graduate School.

Born in Okayama, Japan in 1976, he started his career as an industrial machine tool parts machinist in Minato-ku, Osaka in 2001, incorporated in 2007 (company name: Nariko Seimitsu Co., Ltd.), and now mainly manufactures prototypes. In 2019, he established Garage Minato as a base for exchanges with various companies, universities, and research institutes to plan and develop new products through open innovation, and is participating in the DeSET project to solve the challenges of global manufacturing.

Born in Osaka in 1968. After graduating from university, he worked as a sales representative for SMC Corporation, a pneumatic equipment manufacturer, before joining the family business, Kibata Keiki Seisakusho, in 1992. In addition to manufacturing mechanical pressure gauges, which has been his main product for more than 100 years, he established Garage Taisho in 2019 as a base for taking on the challenge of new development through industry-academia collaboration, such as the development of medical equipment and IoT for existing gauges, and is actively involved in projects to revitalize local manufacturing companies.
