The way we view health is changing. Until now, regular health checkups and hospital visits were the main means of maintaining good health. We are approaching a future in which we will be able to know our own health on a daily basis, prevent and diagnose illnesses before they occur, and design our own health without having to visit a hospital. Osaka, which has long been a center of economic and commercial prosperity, food culture, and entertainment, is now home to many cutting-edge research centers related to health and medicine, as well as many health-tech-related companies. This forum will use Osaka as a stage to challenge you to redefine what health means in the coming era, covering a wide range of topics from food, medicine, IoT, and comedy.

Opening Remarks
Jyo Inoue, Executive Vice President CTO, Liverness, Inc.
D., Pharmacist, Tokyo University of Pharmacy and Life Sciences. He is a founding member of LIVERNESS. After completing the doctoral process, he worked as an assistant professor and lecturer at the Faculty of Science, Kitasato University, and an assistant professor at the Graduate School of Medicine, Kyoto University, before being appointed and concurrently serving as a specially-appointed associate professor at the Institute for Advanced Biosciences, Keio University in 2015, and as a professor of advanced pharmaceutical sciences at the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Kumamoto University and a visiting professor at Keio University's Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences in 2018. While conducting research and development, he is a researcher involved in launching joint research projects with universities and research institutions and supporting the establishment of research institutes.

The future of one's body predicted by accumulation and integration
Cohort surveys, genetic testing of individuals, and the acquisition of life logs have dramatically increased the accumulation of information that can be used to learn about an individual's constitution and condition and to maintain and improve health. In addition, as technology advances and more detailed biometric data and life histories become available, the question of how to decipher this data and put it into a form that can be utilized becomes an even greater challenge. However, effective solutions to this problem are still being explored.
This year's gathering brought together researchers working on algorithms for prediction, venture companies using sensors to collect and utilize information, and representatives from companies that are setting up major businesses in the healthcare field. Rather than being limited to cutting-edge technologies, we will discuss how to predict the state of the body from a variety of data, how to make use of the information obtained, and the platforms needed to do so.
9:20-10:40
.
Ability to implement technology to open the future of agriculture
Food supports human health. While technological innovation is progressing in the research field regarding agriculture that supports food, there is a need to demonstrate technologies in the agricultural field. What is needed to promote the implementation of new technologies created in the research field? The panelists, who are researchers, manufacturers, and farmers, will discuss the following issues.
11:00-12:20
.
Health Tech Venture & Osaka Techno Master Pitch
The Kansai region is home to a concentration of medical research centers, including Osaka Prefecture, where the National Institute of Health and Nutrition has decided to relocate in fiscal 2019, and Kobe City, where RIKEN has its Research Center for Bioscience and Biotechnology. Ventures that aim to implement the results of their medical and healthcare research into society will present the worldview they wish to realize. In addition, "Osaka Techno Masters" are technicians who have been certified by Osaka City as having outstanding skills in manufacturing. Do you have a "thing" you need to promote your research? Edgy ventures and technicians will present their thoughts and technologies.
<Venture speakers (in no particular order)
Toy Medical Corporation, Saidin Corporation, BugMo Corporation, Cuor Corporation, NanoBridge LLC, BeCellBar LLC, MyOridge Corporation, Japan Lipid Technologies LLC, Mibyo Marker Institute Corporation, Hartech LAB, HERBIO Corporation, Quadlytics Inc. and AMI Inc.
11:00-12:20
.
Health from Nutrition and Sleep
It is said that a healthy body requires a nutritionally balanced diet, moderate exercise, and adequate sleep, all of which are necessary for a healthy body. Nutrition, exercise, and sleep are not independent of each other, but are intricately intertwined, and health can be compromised when any one of them is disrupted. In this session, leading researchers in the fields of nutrition and sleep will present the latest topics.
14:50-16:10
.
How to achieve health promotion for 10 million people
The 100-year life period, health management, extending healthy life expectancy... These are healthcare-related topics that have spread rapidly in the past few years, but to truly change society, we need to consider specific ways to achieve long-term health behaviors. In this session, we will discuss the realization of health promotion at the social level, based on the results of research that has realized health promotion at the municipal level and efforts to create health from food.
14:50-15:40
.
The garage creates a new relationship between the university and the town factory
Garage Minato and Garage Taisho were born in April 2018 as a base for connecting town factories and researchers to create new things. Since their opening, a variety of people from researchers, local factories, companies, and local governments have visited the sites, and unprecedented collaboration is about to be born. In this session, we will discuss the roles and functions required of "garages" in the future from the perspectives of both universities and local factories.
Session Partners: Nariko Seimitsu Corporation (Garage Minato), Kibata Keiki Seisakusho Co.
16:30-17:50
.
What is the future of health?
The discussion will cross-fertilize the content discussed in each session and discuss how the perception of "health" will change in the future, and how approaches to health prediction and maintenance/promotion are likely to change in the future when the way we think about "health" changes.
In addition, we will discuss new initiatives to realize corporate health management and empirical research unique to Osaka, where interdisciplinary research on the maintenance and promotion of health and physical fitness that incorporates exercise has begun. Ultimately, we aim to consider even cross-disciplinary research projects that can be challenged with all participants throughout the session.
