In 1983, he joined Yamada Shokai Co. He has been in the back-office consistently in labor, human resources, and accounting, and was appointed as Executive Officer and General Manager of the General Affairs Department in 2012. 2016, he led the launch of "Yamada Shokai Holding" and subsequently experienced many M&A transactions. 2024, he assumed his current position and is currently involved in new business creation for the entire group. After running an architectural design office in Minami-Shimabara City (Nagasaki Prefecture), he began teaching and researching architectural design at Kumamoto Prefectural University in 2002. He advocates "contemporary spatial aesthetics" based on architectural design and spatial research. He explains the importance of "beauty" in architecture. Currently, he is conducting research and spatial analysis of the tea ceremony room space in Japanese architecture, and exploring the "beauty of deep consideration without exaggeration" that underlies the Japanese sense of beauty.
