While the social system of mass production, mass consumption, and mass disposal has resulted in a worsening environmental burden on a global scale, challenges to build a sustainable, recycling-oriented society have begun one after another, including a shift to renewable energy, environmentally friendly agriculture, forestry, and fishery industries, and reduction of food loss. In addition, sustainable businesses are expected to be established in local communities in order to shift from an urban-intensive to a decentralized society. This session will bring together companies from outside the prefecture that have been engaged in recycling-oriented businesses for the past 20 years, start-ups that promote the use of unused resources using insects, and second-stage companies that are taking on the challenge of researching and developing feed and organic fertilizers that are less harmful to the environment and animals, to discuss the agribusiness that Kochi is creating for the next generation. The event will be held to discuss agribusiness in Kochi for the next generation, and to bring together people who will work together to create the future.

Mr. Takanori Nagano
Representative Director, Eco Design Institute, Inc. / President, Souai Co.
Born in Kochi City. President and Representative Director of Souai Corporation (3rd generation) since 2004. 49 years old. (He was involved in the demonstration project that preceded the establishment of Eco Design Institute, Inc. and has since been promoting the woody biomass business and regional recycling business within the company, which he has made a pillar of the business that contributes to the realization of a recycling-oriented society in his management policy. The company is seeking to reduce the imbalance by reviewing the nature of social and economic activities from a regional perspective so that future generations can enjoy a sustainable natural environment. Ltd., which operates a lumber business in Niyodogawa Town, and also serves as the representative of Anchor Asset Management Study Group, a limited liability company based in Mie Prefecture.
Mr. Yosuke Ishida
Representative Director and CEO, TOMUSHI Co.
25-year-old twin brother born in Odate City, Akita Prefecture. While a student at Aoyama Gakuin University, he interned at a startup and started his own business in Shibuya, which failed. He then returned to Akita Prefecture and immersed himself in researching beetles from 2018, establishing TOMUSHI Inc. in 2019. The initial costs were paid by his grandparents and started from a garage. Growing up in the generation of insect kings, he is now striving to spread the power of his beloved beetles throughout Japan and around the world.
Yoichiro Kawamura
Director, Kawamura Trading Co.
He is the fifth-generation successor of a small- to medium-sized company in Tokyo that has been in business for more than 100 years. He holds a master's degree from Waseda University Graduate School (MBA) and is a practitioner who promotes the creation of a society that is good for livestock, people, and the earth, with a focus on animal resources under the slogan "Animal Respect. As a sustainable way of utilizing leather, he established a leather sharing workshop called KAWAMURA LEATHER, and its sales exceeded 200 million yen in its fourth year of operation. He is currently conducting joint research with the University of Tokyo to develop and market tannin feed that is gentle to both animals and people. In addition to tannin feed, he is also working on the development of a new system of organic fertilizers based on regional recycling.

(Environmental Studies) from Yokohama National University, Japan; Lecturer at VBL, Yokohama National University since 2008; Representative of LD Factory, Inc. before becoming Director of Mylops, Inc. from November 2014, Regional Development Division of Rivanes, Inc. from 2017, and Agrinome Research Institute, Inc. He has also served as a director and is currently the general manager of the Research and Development Division of Rivanes Inc. He is involved in launching new businesses related to agriculture, forestry, and fisheries, including plant factory business, food and beverage business, and agri-tech venture support. He also develops regional forums of super interdisciplinary societies throughout Japan and actively promotes demonstration projects with local governments, local companies, and startups.
