While the number of local visitors had to be limited due to the declared state of emergency caused by the new coronavirus infection, we established an implementation system that allowed online participation, making it the first super interdisciplinary conference to be held as a hybrid on/off event. A total of 2,193 people, the largest number ever for a two-day event, attended, including those from overseas, from researchers in academia, venture companies, large corporations, core companies, small and medium enterprises, small factories, producers, ministries and local governments, and elementary, middle, and high school students.
This year, in order to activate communication among both local and online participants, we introduced a system that allows comments to be made both at the venue and online when viewing sessions, etc. (Liberace Broadcasting Station), and also incorporated the alter-ego robot "OriHime" developed by Orii Research Institute Inc. and and poster presentations using iPads.

The Liberace Awards were determined and presented based on the participants' evaluations and judging by Liberace, based on the perspectives of "whether passion for research can be felt" and "whether science and technology can be communicated in an easy-to-understand manner.

The Hyperdisciplinary Conference is a place where participants from different fields and industries can collaborate across boundaries and create opportunities to work on new research themes. We will promote new projects that emerge from this conference, and based on the results of these projects, we will create a chain of research that will lead to new fusions of different fields in the coming year.
