What is the Hyper Interdisciplinary Conference?

In 2002, Liberace came up with the concept of "hyperdisciplinarity" to bridge the gap between the exponential increase in the number of scientific publications in recent years and the ever-increasing rate of knowledge available to us. Since then, we have been working as science bridge communicators to bridge science into knowledge that society can use, bringing together scientists, engineers, businesspeople, factory workers, doctors, farmers, educators, and other specialists in a variety of different fields. We believe that this "hyper-disciplinarity" network should be the key to exponentially increasing human knowledge. The Hyperdisciplinarity Conference is a place to test this hypothesis and take a new step forward.

About the Japan Society of Hyperdifferent Fields Yamagata Forum 2022

The Shonai region, where the Yamagata Forum will be held, is based on the port of Sakata, located at the mouth of the Mogami River, and was an important transportation hub where many wealthy merchants were active. By taking advantage of the westbound shipping route connecting the region to Kyoto and by gathering and moving people and goods, the region has developed to the extent that it is known as "Sakai in the west and Sakata in the east. The profits generated from these activities are actively returned to the local community, creating a virtuous cycle in the region. Even today, the concept of expanding "trade" based on the spirit of "public interest" is deeply rooted in the region.

In this forum, in addition to people and things,"knowledge"The project will design a place where local businesses, researchers, venture companies, and large corporations can gather and discuss, with the aim of creating a further virtuous circle involving the local community, the local government, the local economy, and the local economy. Sakata City and RIVANES have already established a joint project in 2022.3Since the project undertaken in FY 2006, study group-type activities centered on local businesses have begun, and there is a growing willingness to promote various demonstration projects. Local products produced in a rich plain surrounded by mountains and the sea, and a priority port called a recycling port"Sakata Port"and related industries that are clustered there, and people who take pride in their trade and public service. We will face these regional resources with a research-oriented mindset, and "Transcend and Connect. Connecting. Change the world. We will initiate knowledge trade that contributes to "Transcending, Connecting, and Changing the World.

"How to Think of Ideas for People in Very Different Fields - From OLED to Health Foods."

Mr. Junji Kido
Professor, Department of Organic Device Engineering, Graduate School of Science and Engineering, Yamagata University

His major at university was applied chemistry, where he conducted basic research on materials. Later, I encountered luminous materials and expanded my research into light-emitting devices and large-screen TVs. The scope of his activities expanded from plant cultivation to food processing technology as its application. These activities in seemingly completely different fields are the result of continuous ideas and curiosity. People in different fields connect the dots to make lines, and then connect the lines to make surfaces. And then they connect the planes to make a three-dimensional object. I will talk about such a way of thinking.

From Shonai to the world, what is the new sophistication of agribusiness?
〜Fusion of Tradition × Specialty Products × Advanced Research

powered by: Shonai Agribusiness Research Association

The Shonai Agribusiness Research Group began its activities in January 2022, led by Farm Teitaro Co. So far, two successful crowdfunding activities have been carried out through venture collaboration and one joint research project is underway. This project will introduce the appeal of these efforts and how Noen Sadataro has promoted collaboration with researchers and venture companies.
We will also create opportunities to pitch proposals for empirical research and joint projects by inviting several carefully selected researchers and venture companies as guests.

Please take advantage of these hints to promote collaboration among businesses in the Shonai area in the future.

Pitches by researchers and venture companies in very different fields
Technology Splash."

Exhibition Partner: Tsuruoka Shinkin Bank

Technology Splash, named after the word "splash," which means "to splash or splash (water, etc.)," is an opportunity for researchers and venture companies to pitch what they want to do and what they are looking for from the participants in a two-minute pitch. The goal is to find passionate researchers and to use their pitches as inspiration to come up with new ideas, while being exposed to the knowledge and enthusiasm of researchers who appear one after another. The aim is then to develop into more in-depth discussions at the poster presentations, leading to the creation of new collaborative research.

Create your own AI and create new value for your industry.

Mr. Jun Zeze
President and Representative Director, Humanome Research Institute, Inc.

When many people hear the term "artificial intelligence (AI) utilization," they think of using AI-equipped tools. However, AI is not something to be used, but something to be created and used by oneself. By doing so, new value can be created in all industries, from primary industry to local government. In this presentation, we will introduce a case study in which AI was introduced to people who work in a local factory and have nothing to do with IT on a daily basis, providing them with new insights into their work. Furthermore, we will introduce a case in which AI was used to cheer up and encourage cancer patients at the Corona Disaster Relief Center.

How to create tomorrow's "energy"?
- A Prescription for Health Promotion, based on Exercise, Eating Behavior, and Data -.

Session Partner: Humanome Research Institute, Inc.

I want to live well tomorrow. In today's age of 100-year life expectancy, this is the desire of everyone. This is not only to prevent illness, but also to live each day with vitality in mind and body. The two actions that play a key role in building our health are physical exercise and eating. In this session, we will take up "Genki Okoku," an organization that provides exercise guidance to everyone from children to the elderly in Sakata City, as a case study, and consider prescriptions for living well tomorrow from the perspectives of "exercise," "food," and data science.

Sin Food Value Chain around the region

Session Partner: BIPROGY Corporation

There are many issues facing the agriculture and livestock industries, such as the continued rise in fertilizer and feed prices due to high prices and fuel costs, as well as the disposal of substandard vegetables due to weather conditions. In addition, as stated in the "Green Food System Strategy," restrictions on chemical fertilizers are also in progress. Under these circumstances, attention has been focused on the recycling of resources within the region, and local efforts are underway to promote composting, feed conversion, and biomass.

In this session, we will discuss the total regional agriculture and livestock industry, including the food value chain from production to consumption, as well as fertilizer, feed, and energy in production.
