panel discussion

With new land and sea circulation,

Aiming for carbon fixation and ocean restoration

A panel discussion on "New Land-Ocean Cycles for Carbon Fixation and Ocean Regeneration" will be held at Kagawa Forum 2022, a super interdisciplinary conference hosted by RIVANES.

Hyper Interdisciplinary Conference in Kagawa Forum 2022

Atmospheric CO2As a way to reduce emissions, attention is focusing on the fixation of carbon in the ocean as "blue carbon" by having marine organisms absorb it. On the other hand, the oceans, which are the source of this absorption, are now facing problems such as rocky shore scorch, oligotrophication, and the influx of garbage from the land, and measures to maintain their abundance are required. Can we solve both global warming and ocean restoration at the same time by connecting technologies from different fields? In this session, three businesses and researchers from different fields will talk about their technologies and initiatives, and consider how we can create collaboration to solve these two global issues.

We will have a program of discussions among researchers, startups, and large companies from a variety of perspectives, not limited to the themes of this session. For more information, please refer to the conference website.
*The event will be held after taking measures against new coronavirus infection on the day of the event.

speaker

Mr. Akihiro Tada
Ohki Kogei Co.

2013 Completed the Material Chemistry Course, Graduate School of Science and Engineering, Ryukoku University, and joined Ohki Kogei Co.We have been researching and developing carbonization for many years under the motto of "learning from nature and returning to nature.Currently, we are working on the internationally patented waste car and sewage sludge carbonization and sea forest by seaweed by sinking them into the sea.A reef project is underway to absorb CO2 and mitigate global warming that will foster

Mr. Tetsuya Inokuchi
Representative Director, Vantec Ltd.

He joined Vantec Ltd. in 2008, became a director of the company in 2010, and assumed his current position in 2020. Established a corporation in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam in 2018. In 2018, he established a corporation in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, and is currently implementing a project to reduce sludge disposal costs, recycle resources, and contribute to sustainable aquaculture by using a unique portable centrifuge that can reduce the volume of sludge generated on-site in aquaculture, where environmental impact has become an issue.

Mr. Takuji Namba
Associate Professor, Department of Multidisciplinary Sciences, Faculty of Education and Research, Kochi University

D. (Pharmaceutical Sciences), Graduate School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Kumamoto University. After working as a postdoctoral fellow at Harvard Medical School, he runs an independent laboratory as a PI at Kochi University. He is conducting basic research aimed at combating aging, which we cannot avoid, and at the same time, he is exploring ways to utilize carbon-containing compounds fixed as blue carbon to improve our health in order to achieve "environment x health improvement" by utilizing his research capabilities in pharmacology and biotechnology.

Junichiro Ishio
General Manager, Kansai Development Division, Liverness Co.

D. in International Development Engineering from Tokyo Institute of Technology. D. in Engineering. From engineering to physiological psychology, he does not hesitate to dive into any field that interests him. As a student, he conducted manufacturing projects both inside and outside of Japan. During his doctoral years, he conducted research on measuring human emotions using wearable terminals. In his hometown of Kagawa Prefecture, he established the Kagawa Tech Planter and the Society of Transdisciplinary Studies, and is currently struggling to create a project that will change the world from the local community.
