Why R&D startups are heading to Asia

The importance of innovation has long been emphasized in Japan, and startups have been attracting attention as bearers of such innovation. As exemplified by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry's "J-Startup" program, the public and private sectors are promoting support for startups. Against this backdrop, R&D startups have gradually emerged and technologies to solve deep issues are being created. R&D startups are exploring approaches to solving problems as they progress with their R&D and business operations, and are accelerating their efforts in Asia, where deep issues are piling up and the market scale is expanding.
In this session, based on the efforts of three R&D startups that are actually expanding in Asia, we will discuss what kind of support the government/local government should provide to accelerate their efforts and how business companies can work together to build businesses that solve problems and are economically viable at the same time.

We will have a program of discussions among researchers, start-ups, and large companies from a variety of perspectives, not limited to the themes of this session.
Audience members are invited to attend the conference. Please visit the conference website (see below).
