Although Masuda City in Shimane Prefecture is located a 10-minute drive from Hagi/Ishimi Airport, it has been listed by the Council for the Creation of Japan as one of the cities with the potential to disappear due to its declining population, aging population with low birthrate, lack of agricultural bearers, and devastated mountain forests. In the 2019 forum, we will discuss three projects we are currently working on: "Health Tech Mall Demonstration Research," "Grazing Livestock Production in Abandoned Forest Land," and "Agribusiness Using Unutilized Resources," and aim to accelerate research and development and build sustainable, decentralized cities.
