Blue foods production from aquaculture surpassed that from wild fish catch, and the demand is expected to double by 2050. Aquaculture plays a key role in boosting supplies of nutritious and healthy food for billions of consumers around the world, as it becomes the new source of sustainable protein for food security. However, aquaculture's rapid growth causes unintended negative environmental, social and economic consequences that require a shift to more sustainable practices. Therefore, stakeholder partnerships are important to ensure aquaculture becomes a more sustainable and climate- friendly industry
