The content discussed in last year's Masuda Forum session "Local Agritech 2030" and "Realization of Livestock Production Utilizing Abandoned Forest Land" has begun as a demonstration study. In Local Agritech 2030, we are studying the effects of feeding baby leaves on yield and quality in order to utilize materials that have been an issue in the region. In addition, the realization of livestock production using abandoned forest land is scheduled to begin in early fall, using unused farmland as pastureland. In this session, we will introduce the progress of these efforts by the operators, researchers, and companies in Masuda City, and discuss future developments.

We have prepared a program of discussions among researchers, venture companies, and large corporations from various perspectives, not limited to the themes of this session. We are currently accepting applications for audience participation. Please visit the conference website (see below).

Agri Mito" is an agricultural production corporation that produces and sells agricultural products such as strawberries, baby leaves, paddy rice, daffodils, and eggplants, mainly in Mito Town, Masuda City, Shimane Prefecture. Because agricultural production is conducted in a mountainous area, it is difficult to improve management efficiency through large-scale production. In addition, in the winter, the area receives little sunlight and snowfall, which is unique to the San-in region, making it difficult to produce crops year-round and to provide year-round employment. Under these circumstances, the company is developing sustainable agricultural production in mountainous areas by growing strawberries, which have a high yield and can be grown in winter, and baby leaves throughout the year.
