At the Hyper Interdisciplinary Conference Thailand 2026, hosted by Leave a Nest, we will be holding a session entitled "Exploring the Intersection of Technology, Movement, and Cognitive Health" (Session Partner: Thammasat University).
Hyper Interdisciplinary Conference (HIC), Thailand, Examines Technology, Movement, and Cognitive Health for Healthy Aging
Bangkok, Thailand | 31st Jan 2026 — HIC Thailand will convene an interdisciplinary panel discussion titled “Technology, Movement, and the Future of Cognitive Health,” bringing together experts from health technology innovation, sports science, cognitive aging research, and medical systems leadership to explore how integrated approaches can enhance performance, well-being, and healthy aging across the lifespan.
HIC Thailand is an interdisciplinary platform that connects innovators, researchers, entrepreneurs, and practitioners to address complex global challenges through collaboration, experimentation, and dialogue. By bridging science, technology, and society, HIC Thailand supports initiatives that translate advanced knowledge into practical, locally relevant solutions.
This panel will explore how emerging health technologies, evidence-based movement science, and cognitive health research can work together to support physical performance, brain health, and long-term quality of life. The discussion emphasises the importance of multidisciplinary collaboration in ensuring that innovation is not only scientifically robust but also scalable, inclusive, and aligned with real-world healthcare systems.
The discussion will feature a health technology start-up (to be confirmed), offering insights into how new technologies are developed, validated, and implemented in applied health, performance, and well-being settings. This perspective grounds the conversation in practical considerations around adoption, user impact, and scalability.
A cognitive health and aging lens will be provided by Prof. Eva (“Eef”) Hogervorst, whose work connects physical activity, lifestyle interventions, and innovation to brain health, dementia prevention, and long-term cognitive resilience. Her perspective expands the discussion beyond short-term performance toward lifelong well-being and healthy aging.
Adding a systems-level and policy-orientated perspective, Dr. Kammal Kumar Pawa of Thammasat University will address how medical education, integrative medicine, and healthcare leadership can support the responsible adoption of new technologies within Thailand's healthcare and long-term care ecosystems. His insights help situate scientific and technological advances within broader health systems, policy frameworks, and community-based care models.
Dr. Taspol Keerasomboon will contribute a sports science and movement research perspective, highlighting the role of biomechanics, physical performance, and injury prevention in designing effective technology-enabled health interventions. His contribution ensures that innovation remains anchored in rigorous, evidence-based understanding of human movement.
Moderated by Priyavadana (LVNS Singapore), the panel will examine how cross-disciplinary collaboration can bridge innovation, science, and health systems to translate research into practice, support healthy aging, and inform future healthcare strategies in Thailand and the region.
Attendees can expect a dynamic and timely discussion on aligning innovation with local needs. For details, please refer to the conference website.
