As a screening technology in the drug discovery field, MPS (biomimetic system) has penetrated foreign pharmaceutical companies and is gradually spreading to domestic pharmaceutical companies and CROs. On the other hand, current evaluation systems are based on the extension of planar culture, and have not yet reached a system that fully reflects the biological environment. In this session, we will discuss the construction of a platform for various technologies such as 3D culture, co-culture of heterologous cells, and co-culture of human cells and microorganisms, based on the common platform of a culture vessel.<\/p>\n

\nSenior Researcher, Food and Healthcare Business Development Unit, Business Development Division, R&D and Commercialization Promotion Center, Dai Nippon Printing Co.<\/p>\n

Graduated from Tokyo University of Science, Faculty of Science in 2002, engaged in research on biomaterials at Tokyo Medical and Dental University (now Tokyo University of Science), and obtained a Ph. Since joining DNP in 2008, he has been engaged in the development of regenerative medicine-related technologies. After working on joint development with Tokyo Medical and Dental University and Osaka University, he has been in his current position since 2022, promoting commercialization of regenerative medicine-related technologies. He also serves as the chairman of the Regenerative Medicine Innovation Forum: Entrepreneurship and Commercialization Promotion Committee.<\/span><\/p>\n\r\n\t\t<\/div>\r\n\t<\/div>\r\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

Mr. Ken Takahashi<\/strong>
\nAssociate Professor, Okayama University<\/p>\n

Associate Professor, Department of Systems Physiology, Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Okayama University. D. from Nagoya University Graduate School of Medicine. He was a visiting researcher at the Wyss Institute, Harvard University before assuming his current position. He has been promoting research to reproduce human physiological functions and pathological conditions through the development of organ chips (heart, kidney, BBB, lung, etc.) using human iPS cells and primary cells. In recent years, he has focused on the evaluation of drug efficacy and toxicity, application to personalized medicine, and social implementation of alternative technologies to animal experiments. He launched Physiaura, a start-up company from Okayama University, aiming to create a new trend of biotech through both research and business.<\/span><\/p>\n\r\n\t\t<\/div>\r\n\t<\/div>\r\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

Ms. Kaori Shigetomi (Kuribayashi)<\/strong>
\nAssociate Professor, Hokkaido University Graduate Education Organization<\/p>\n

D. (Engineering) from Oxford University, UK in 2004. After working at the University of Tokyo, JSPS Postdoctoral Fellowship (SPD), and as a specially-appointed Associate Professor at the Hokkaido University Organization for the Advancement of Higher Education, he has been Associate Professor at the Hokkaido University Graduate Education Organization since 2023. He specializes in micro\/nano engineering.
\nIn 2013, she was the only Asian woman to be selected as one of the \"25 Female Robotics Researchers to Watch in the World. She has been highly acclaimed both in Japan and abroad, including receiving the Shiseido Female Researcher Science Grant, speaking at TEDxSapporo, and having her research on \"Cellular Origami\" published in Nikkei Science. She has served as a committee member of the Japan Society of Mechanical Engineers, the Japanese Society for Regenerative Medicine, and others, and is actively working to link the results of her research to social implementation.<\/span><\/p>\n\r\n\t\t<\/div>\r\n\t<\/div>\r\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>
