While a student at Nara Medical University, he engaged in basic research in cell biology. After completing a clinical internship at Nara Medical University Hospital, he went to the University of Texas, U.S.A., for further study. Through research into the pathophysiology of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), a neurological intractable disease, he established MORMIL in June 2022 with scientific advisors Shunsuke Tomita (AIST) and Tomohide Saio (University of Tokushima), and Masataka Yamamoto and Kota Togami (CFO).
