However, the maintenance and effective utilization of these resources have not progressed sufficiently. According to a survey conducted by the Forestry Agency, due to the aging of forestry workers and other factors, the number of forests that can be effectively used as forest resources is decreasing because the main cutting of trees over 10 years old, which is necessary for forest renewal, is not being done sufficiently. On the other hand, looking at the rest of the world, there are many areas where the recovery of ecosystems after resource extraction has not progressed, and land lacking forests, which are essential for material cycles, is spreading. In this session, we will share the issues related to forest resource management in Japan and around the world, and discuss how these issues can be resolved, together with researchers who are working on the management and maintenance of underutilized land use and forest operations, and researchers who are studying microorganisms and plant species that are necessary for the regeneration of such land. We will share our experiences and ideas on how to solve these issues.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">We will have a program of discussions among researchers, startups, and large companies from a variety of perspectives, not limited to the themes of this session. D. in Agricultural Chemistry from Hokkaido University in 2000, a postdoctoral fellowship at the Forest Research Institute of Finland in 2001, and a JSPS PD fellowship at the Forestry and Forest Products Research Institute, Tohoku Branch in 2003, where he studied chemical ecology. In 2005, he started research on plants and functional microorganisms native to former mine sites at Tsukuba University, where he discovered that functional microorganisms are involved in the heavy metal tolerance mechanism of native plants and is currently investigating their use in greening technology.
