A panel discussion, \"How to Start International Collaborative Research Projects in the With Corona Era\" (session partner Mitsubishi Electric Corporation), will be held within the 10th Annual Conference of the Association of Hyperdifferent Fields, March 5-6, 2021 (Friday and Saturday), hosted by LIVERNESS.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

It is no exaggeration to say that the decline of research and development will lead to the decline of humanity, as science and technology have always played a central role in social change. However, the recent outbreak of the new coronavirus has made it difficult for Japanese companies to travel across borders, and the way of proceeding with joint research and projects between Japanese companies and overseas start-ups and researchers will not be the same as before. The method of meeting face-to-face in the field, building a relationship of trust, and then discussing the terms of the project will slow down the speed at which new things can be done. On the other hand, if we do nothing and wait for the convergence of coronas, we will find ourselves behind the times.
\nSo, in the new way of life for mankind brought about by the infectious disease epidemic, how should international joint projects that transcend national boundaries be initiated? In this session, moderated by Yukihiro Maru, CEO of the LIVERNESS Group, we will discuss how to start international projects to establish strong connections with overseas start-ups, with Mr. Yamanaka of Mitsubishi Electric Corporation, who is currently promoting joint research with overseas start-ups, Mr. Sugitani of Ebara Corporation, who is trying to start collaboration to solve issues in Southeast Asia, and Mr. Hiratsuka, who is in charge of supporting Japanese companies' overseas expansion at the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry who are in charge of supporting overseas expansion of Japanese companies at the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, will discuss how to start an international project to create strong connections with overseas startups.<\/p>\n

Born in Fukuoka Prefecture, Japan. Graduated from the University of Tokyo, Faculty of Law, Harvard Law School, and Columbia University School of Public Policy and International Relations. After joining the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI), he worked in the Minister's Secretariat, Small and Medium Enterprise Agency (in charge of venture promotion), Iraq Transitional Authority, and Director General of the Japanese Business Council in Europe, before serving as Director General of the Corporate Accounting Office, Director General of the Monozukuri Policy Deliberation Office, Trade Negotiation Coordinator, and Director of the Corporate Trade Division at the Fair Trade Commission (executive exchange personnel). Currently, as a Strategic Export Negotiator at the Trade and Economic Cooperation Bureau, he is in charge of supporting Japanese companies, including venture companies, in their overseas expansion.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
