For example, in robots that have generally been made of hard materials, easy-to-use, soft materials have great potential to expand the diversity of grasping and movement. However, there have not been many cases where robotics engineers have teamed up with material suppliers, and thus the potential has not been fully exploited. In this session, researchers and venture company executives involved in manufacturing using soft matter will gather to discuss the impact of softness in engineering from the viewpoints of material, structure, and function, as well as the challenges for implementation, with examples provided.

We will have a program of discussions among researchers, start-ups, and large companies from a variety of perspectives, not limited to the themes of this session.
Audience members are invited to attend the conference.
