Panel discussion \"Solving Deep Issues, Frontiers of GovTech (Government x Technology)\" to discuss future developments in government and technology ventures (session partners.) within the 9th Annual Conference of the Association for Transdisciplinary Studies, March 6-7, 2020 (Friday and Saturday), hosted by Rivanes:Drone Fund<\/span><\/a>(the \"Company\") will be held.<\/span>

\nGovTech (Government x Technology), which uses new technology to solve long-standing problems faced by governments and municipalities, has begun to attract attention in recent years.
\nDisaster preparedness is an area where GovTech is needed, as exemplified by the recent natural disasters in Japan, such as typhoons that caused extensive damage in the Kansai region in 2018 and in the Kanto region in 2019. In addition, there are many issues that need to be solved by the entire country, such as education, food\/agriculture, and health\/healthcare.
\nIn this session, we will discuss the forefront of GovTech, how governments and private companies should promote GovTech by utilizing \"DeepTech\" technology to solve the deep global issues that humanity is facing, facilitated by Yukihiro Maru, CEO of Liverness Group. Under the facilitation of CEO Yukihiro Maru, key persons from METI and Cabinet Office, and Drone Fund, a VC specializing in drone and air mobility, will discuss the forefront of GovTech.

We will have a program of discussions among researchers, venture companies, and large corporations from various perspectives, not limited to the themes of this session.

\nAtsuyuki Hiratsuka<\/strong>
\n<\/span>Born in Fukuoka Prefecture, Japan. Graduated from the University of Tokyo, Faculty of Law, Harvard Law School, and Columbia University School of Public Policy and International Relations. After joining the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI), he worked in the Minister's Secretariat, Small and Medium Enterprise Agency (in charge of venture promotion), Iraq Transitional Authority, and Director General of the Japanese Business Council in Europe, before serving as Director General of the Corporate Accounting Office, Director General of the Monozukuri Policy Deliberation Office, Trade Negotiation Coordinator, and Director of the Corporate Trade Division at the Fair Trade Commission (executive exchange personnel). Currently, as a Strategic Export Negotiator at the Trade and Economic Cooperation Bureau, he is in charge of supporting Japanese companies, including venture companies, in their overseas expansion.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

In 2018, he was seconded to the Cabinet Office, where he is in charge of promoting the formation of innovation ecosystems and open innovation. He is currently promoting a project in the Open Innovation Challenge of the Cabinet Office, which seeks solutions to policy needs of government ministries and agencies and local governments from startups and coalitions of startups and large companies. As a drone grapher (2014-), his activities include winning the runner-up prize in the Drone Movie Contest (2016) and overall supervision for Yomiuri TV Drone Zekkei Kiko (2018) He was appointed to the Drone Fund Advisory Board in 2017 and became co-chair partner the following year. Professor at Business Breakthrough University\/Graduate School (specializing in digital marketing)<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

After working at Mitsubishi UFJ Bank and Japan Bank for International Cooperation, he worked at the Institute of Industrial Science, University of Tokyo (Specially Appointed Researcher) and Japan Science and Technology Agency (ACCEL Program Manager). Since joining RIVANES, he has been responsible for supporting the commercialization of research results by researchers and the investment and development of venture companies. He also serves as President and Representative Director of Glocalink Inc. and Growth Manager of the Real Tech Fund.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
