Baseball practice equipment used by high school ballplayers and professional players, earthquake-resistant shelters designed from the perspective of protecting children, and new sports and equipment for both children and adults. Over the past year, all of these were born in Minato Ward, Osaka City. 2018 saw the opening of Garage Minato, a center in Minato Ward that connects town factories with businesses, universities, and researchers, and the start of a public-private partnership project that utilizes the garage. What is the secret behind this initiative to gather local issues and solve them with the power of manufacturing, which has changed the participating companies and enabled them to create something new? Players based in Minato Ward will talk about the project.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

We will have a program of discussions among researchers, venture companies, and large corporations from various perspectives, not limited to the themes of this session.

\n<\/span>Started industrial machine tool parts machining business in Minato-ku, Osaka in 2001, incorporated in 2007 (company name: Nariko Seimitsu Co., Ltd.). In 2017, he participated in the DeSET project, and in 2018, he established Garage Minato in his factory as a base for exchanges with various companies, universities, and research institutes for the planning and development of new products through open innovation. Garage Minato was established within the company's own factory. The company is working to solve the world's manufacturing issues.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\n<\/strong>Hitoshi Minami<\/strong>
\n<\/span>Gear cutting is indispensable in the industrial world. He is especially good at machining gears and splines for long shafts, and is the representative of Minami Gear Manufacturing Co. In 2017, he was recognized by the City of Osaka as an Osaka Techno Master, an outstanding technologist who contributes to the next generation of manufacturing.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\n<\/span>Owner and player of the working baseball team \"Kansai HANG\" In April 2018, he brought a baseball-related problem to Garage Minato and launched a project team of 22 people with seven manufacturing companies to solve the problem In March 2019, a new type of baseball batting tee used for hitting practice was batting tee \"Sakugoe\" was developed. Currently, he has established a sports equipment development venture, Hang Inc. and is struggling to promote its use.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

He joined RIVERNESS while still a university student and became a director in 2009, and has been stationed at the Osaka office since its opening in 2006. In May 2018, he was transferred to the Tokyo Head Office to oversee the sales planning of the two headquarters in Japan. He has also served as a director of Kibata Keiki Seisakusho Co., Ltd. since July of the same year and as a director of Seikou Seimitsu Co.
